About Virginia County Warrants
Every Virginia county runs a sheriff office that serves bench warrants and holds records on active cases. The local General District Court handles most misdemeanor warrants. The Circuit Court handles felony capias orders. You can search statewide court cases through the Virginia Judicial System case site. Some counties also post an outstanding warrant PDF on the sheriff site.
Note: A bench warrant from one Virginia county can be served by police in any other county under VA Code ยง 19.2-76.
